Six Degrees Separation

The work of eight contemporary Cuban artists will open with a reception honoring guest artists Osmeivy Ortega and Lisandra Ramírez. Some of the artists and the Curator, Gabriela Azcuy, will be the guests of honor at the opening reception. They will speak informally at 7 pm. The topic of the talk is Cuba Ahora – the Next Generation.

The engaging art of eight of Havana’s young artists addresses themes that shape their lives: the geo-political influences on their creative roots, issues of family and emigration from their native island, interest in ancient history as well as contemporary, an avid commitment to aesthetics and artistic execution, history and heritage – and the quest to express their cultural perspective with the world.

Exhibition curated by Gabriela Azcuy and Anne E. Gilroy
Both of the 82ºW exhibitions are part of the region-wide Bulla Cubana celebration of Cuban culture and are free and open to the public with the support of Milestone Advisory Partners.

Featured Artists:

Osmeivy Ortega | Jorge Otero | Lisandra Ramírez
Adislen Reyes | Gustavo Del Valle
