Makey Makey Musical Buffet
STEAM is an acronym for the fields of study in the categories of science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics.
At the Cade Museum for Creativity + Invention, ALL of our classes and programming are developed with STEAM in mind. It is the scaffolding upon which we created the Cade Way of teaching, underscoring that learning happens best when disciplines intersect. Each class is labeled with a STEAM descriptor. The emphasis for the class is capitalized within this descriptor.
Example: StEaM denotes that the class’s emphasis is strongest in Science, Engineering and Math . Whereas, SteAm is strongest in Science and Art.
What will be taught?
In this maker’s lab, students will create music using bananas as keys, or play a video game using Silly Putty as a joy stick. The possibilities are only limited by your own creative capacity!
Makey Makey® is an invention kit for the 21st century for beginners and experts alike and provides the opportunity to connect art and engineering with the fundamentals of circuitry. Most importantly, students who use the circuit board become part of the circuit themselves.
This fun and exciting creation puts the power into the hands of the maker all while learning the basics of programming.
