Genius of Edison (Ages 6-8)
STEAM is an acronym for the fields of study in the categories of science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics.
At the Cade Museum for Creativity + Invention, ALL of our classes and programming are developed with STEAM in mind. It is the scaffolding upon which we created the Cade Way of teaching, underscoring that learning happens best when disciplines intersect. Each class is labeled with a STEAM descriptor. The emphasis for the class is capitalized within this descriptor.
Example: StEaM denotes that the class’s emphasis is strongest in Science, Engineering and Math . Whereas, SteAm is strongest in Science and Art.
What will be taught?
It’s a blast from the past, back by popular demand!
This lab teaches the wonders of Thomas Edison as students recreate some of his famous inventions with a 21st Century twist.
Join us as we connect the dots between the past and present inventions, and take a journey through an earlier time, before computers and televisions were invented.
Then we will take a leap into the future and turn smart phones into virtual reality headsets and meet the genius Edison himself.
Students will take home a virtual reality set made with cardboard, lenses, and magnets to keep their creativity flowing long after their time in the Creativity Lab.
