The Amazing Human Brain With The McKnight Brain Institute

March 18 @ 9:00 am - 11:30 am

Cade Museum

Amazing Human Brain – McKnight Brain Institute

STEAM is an acronym for the fields of study in the categories of science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics.

At the Cade Museum for Creativity + Invention, ALL of our classes and programming are developed with STEAM in mind.  It is the scaffolding upon which we created the Cade Way of teaching, underscoring that learning happens best when disciplines intersect. Each class is labeled with a STEAM descriptor.  The emphasis for the class is capitalized within this descriptor.

ExampleStEaM denotes that the class’s emphasis is strongest in ScienceEngineering and Math . Whereas, SteAm is strongest in Science and Art.

What will be taught?

  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Optics

The human brain is an amazing computer. It helps us understand, make choices, recall facts or faces, and work through problems, just to name a few. The brain can even repair and teach itself how to work again when damaged.

Join the University of Florida’s McKnight Brain Institute as we learn about the human brain through hands-on interactives, including a real sheep brain dissection. Don’t worry-students who do not wish to participate in the dissection will be able to spend time at another activity table.
